Product of the month

I can without a doubt name this the product of the month without hesitation. Nothing else even entered my mind.

After feeding my latest blog crush and binge reading Emtalks, who is beautiful and raves about this product, I couldn't resist picking it up when I saw it in Primark, of all places. The Palmers Cocoa butter gradual tan smells good enough to eat and sinks in so quickly! I've always thought that gradual tanners took a million coats to take affect (& I'm too lazy to apply it all the time) but after just one application I noticed a difference!

I'm not one for fake tan, it comes off on the bed, looks orange and streaky half the time and is a bit of a chore to slap on. Lately I've been getting dry skin and razor rash, (not a good look) so I figured cocoa butter will battle dryness and the tan will hide the rash, the theory worked out pretty well.

I also didn't notice it come off on my clothes, (only the yummy chocolate smell) and it didn't all instantly rub off in the shower, even after exfoliating! Have I convinced you yet?

Having a tan is like having a super power... I feel more confident, healthy, wear less makeup and get my skin out more. It's genius.

Try it yourself for just £4 at Primark or at feelunique.com

Room Tour - A lick of paint

The finished Room

layoring creates a cosy feel
accessories
I've had a rather busy week redecorating my room, I've wanted to show you my precious space for a while but needed to be happy with it first.

My room was originally blue and grey with white and black details but to liven it up the grey has been lightened and a pale pink statement wall added, the room feels so fresh and new and warning - very girly.
When you first walk in my room you will find a built in wardrobe - not very interesting, just a pair of doors. Then this cosy seating/storage area. This balnket chest was a bargain on eBay for £20! It is great for storing spare pillows and blanket in as well as layering on top for a comfortable seating area. The heart pillow is from Primark but the others were gifts however fluffy pillows are easy to find.

I'm in love with my silhouette canvas that portrays my relationship very well - leave a comment if you also where the trousers!

Next is my gorgous dresser, this originally came from an oak shop but after years I have refreshed it with white paint and crystal handles. I store hair and makeup products in the drawers.

On top of the dresser I have a number of treasures including the lovely mirror drawers that I keep my daily essentials in e.g. Hair grips, eye creams, concealer and other small bits and bobs.

My favourite dresser topper is this birdcage style shelf from Urban Outfitters, I got it a long time ago but similar shelves are sold on eBay. The bird jewellery dish at the bottom is also from Urban Outfitters and holds my favourite jewellery - Pandora bracelet, midi rings and small gold earings. Next to this I keep a mini Clinique moisturiser and my trusty Lush colour pot: Jackie Oates.
On the top is Nick's police spray and an old Nutella jar that I use to keep cotton buds in for makeup emergencies. I put a flower hairband from eBay around this to keep it pretty.

My favourite fragrances are always on display, Calvin Klein - CK in 2 U and a gift from my sister, The White Company Noir perfume which is lovely and fresh.

At the end I have a small mirror from New Look and in the photo section I currently have a cute Pinterest picture, Pugs not drugs right. The pink Turkish delight style jar holds some hair scrunchies. This is also from Urban Outfitters (spotting a theme here?) Containing my watches is a gorgeous scalloped pot from IKEA, bargain.
Next up is my super comfy double bed, also from IKEA a long time ago. Can we take some time to appreciate my gorgous grey and pink matching bedding! It is brushed cotton, don't let the small price deceive you, Primark makes some gems and it is the warmest bedding ever!
The grey and pink matches my new paint theme perfectly and ties the room
together. The hearts are also a theme I carried out through the room.
Layering blankets creates a warm feel to the room, here I have used a huge grey queen sized blanket from TK Max underneath and an extra thick knitted number from Matalan on top. The cushions at the top are also fluffy. The grey was a tiny £2 from The Range and I made the white one using an old dressing gown.

To carry on the grey canvases I have this huge Audrey Hepburn image above my bed which adds loads of glamour to the room. It is very popular and from IKEA. I think Audrey is a great beauty icon with simple makeup and elegant buns she is simply classic.

Under my television shelf I have this useful drawer set from Ikea. It was very cheap but again I pained it white and added crystal handles from Home Bargains to vamp it up. On top I have my DIY bird cage and essential books as well as a cheesy picture from my engagement party.
You can never go wrong with Lauren Conrad!

On the window sill I accessorised with this metal LOVE sign from TK Max and my gorgous oversized jar from Home Baragins which I keep fairy lights in.

New carpet is being fitted soon but for now a white fluffy rug from IKEA is keeping my feet happy.

Other small accessories make it feel homely as that is my main aim for the bedroom.
This doorstop from a small boutique was a great find!

I love having hearts around the room!
This remote tidy helps to keep the bedside table looking lovely.
My TV shelf is made more attractive with candles and jars hiding my Nintendo Wii which I stream Netflix from.
My jar holds arty pebbles that I collected whilst holidaying in Turkey.
My favourite thing to display is memories and this frame from Matalan was a bargain at £10.

These frames were another find on eBay.
Another bit of Audrey along with motivational quote! -eBay

Keeping it glam with the drawer knobs.
A bit of glitz on the curtain tie backs.
Shabby chic mirror which was sanded after painting to create the boutique look. I stuck flowers at each corner to keep it unique.
